It is amazing what is revealed through our simulations.
If you are leading the Decarbonization Transformation of your plant, this case study of ArcelorMittal Europe - Eisenhüttenstadt reveals some crucial insights.

A first simulation by Fesios showed that there was a potential threat of a 16% decrease in productivity with the initial green steel melt shop concept.  We also revealed that tundish costs would increase by 21% due to slower tap-to-tap times of the EAFs and insufficient Secondary Metallurgy capacity.

Based on these initial results, eight potential plant configurations were developed which we studied extensively. The scenarios included:

- One vs. two EAF operation
- Revamping of the existing LF
- Additional LF

And we fine-tuned the details with variations in:

- Different hot metal production levels
- Varying EAF charging mix
- Updated process times and routes due to EAF steel
- Changes to the product mix

Utilizing FESIOSim, we simulated and rigorously tested all eight plant concepts, uncovering and addressing various issues on the way and presented them to AMEH steel plant experts. Through this iterative process, we developed refined conclusions and a final comparison.

We provided AMEH with detailed results and insights for each configuration, ensuring a realistic projection for the plant's future.

This isn't just about uncertainty; it's about a once in a lifetime transformation. From the initial doubts to strategic certainty, FESIOS is proud to be a vital part of AMEH’s journey towards a more efficient and sustainable future.
